Meta Pixel for NEXT
What Meta Pixel does with NEXT
Server-to-server purchase events
Each order sends one Purchase event to the Meta Conversions API from the server, the method Meta recommends for the most accurate tracking.
Pixel on the storefront
The app adds the Meta Pixel to your storefront for PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart, and InitiateCheckout browser events.
External checkouts and multiple pixels
Add several pixels with one default. Orders from external checkouts can carry fb_fbc, fb_fbp, and fb_pixel_id to reach the right pixel.
Upsells in the purchase value
Enable Delay Order Confirmation holds the server-side event for 10 minutes so post-checkout upsells are included. Subscription renewals are left out by default.
Setting up Meta Pixel
- In Meta Business Manager, get your Pixel ID (Dataset ID) and an access token for the Conversions API.
- In your NEXT dashboard, go to Apps > Meta Pixel > Settings, choose Add Pixel, enter the Pixel ID and Access Token, save, and pick your Default Meta Pixel.
- For external checkouts, capture fb_fbc and fb_fbp from the Meta Pixel cookies on your funnel and pass them with each order as attribution metadata.
